America's Oldest Man Celebrates Birthday, Wants To Play Baseball And Get Married Again

Supercentenarian Shelby Harris from Indiana celebrated his birthday over the weekend. He turned 110 -- making Harris the oldest man in America, WQAD reports.

Born in 1901, Harris -- a Baptist deacon until the age of 102 -- has outlived three daughters and two wives.

A great-great-great-grandfather who grew up in Indiana but now resides in the Rock Island Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Illinois, Harris said that there are only two things left on his bucket list.

"I'd like to play baseball just one more time and possibly get married again," he said. "I have only just begun to live and I plan on sticking around."

Though there seems to be no bride in sight, Harris will get to fulfill at least one of his goals this week. In celebration of his birthday, Harris will be throwing out the first pitch of opening day for a minor league baseball game in Davenport, IA.

“One of the greatest things in the world is to love people and believe in people. I just try to live from day to day. I try to live the right kind of life. I try to live the truth. I love everybody and I want everybody to love me,” he told WQAD.
