Carla Bruni Rides The Metro In A Wig

Carla Bruni Rides The Metro In A Wig

Despite her celebrity background and famous friends, Carla Bruni has found ways to stay down-to-earth and in touch with la populace.

One way we've noticed? Her fashion, which has grown increasingly relaxed since she gave birth to her daughter, Giulia, back in October 2011. Once famous for those slim Dior sheaths, the French first lady now rocks a slouchy poncho or cardi with the best of them.

But alas, jeans and tees aren't enough to make her blend in. In a recent interview with Le Nouvel Observateur, Carla says that all the media scrutiny requires her to travel incognito:

The notoriety did not weigh me down, and anyway I disguise myself literally and figuratively. With a wig on, nobody recognizes me on the metro. Recently, my bag was still searched at the Marine Museum.

Wait, for real? A wig? What color is it, Carla? What style? Does it have glasses and a fake mustache attached? WE MUST KNOW.

Read more about Carla's coping mechanism for celebrity (she equates her fame level to Lady Gaga's -- we'll let y'all debate that one), head to Le Nouvel Observateur or get an English-language summary from the Guardian.
