Full disclosure: Sometimes we do get a little sidetracked during work hours. Our latest internet distraction? Browsing the interiors of London homes on One Fine Stay, which offers real homes in and around the city to travelers who want to opt out of the hotel experience in favor of a 'local's' perspective.
As we thumbed through images of various homes on the site, this Orleston Mews house especially grabbed our attention. Designed with a spacious open layout, the three-story house is a mix of modern and traditional styles. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and windows draw focus to soaring ceilings, and modern sofas and tables are joined by a handful of midcentury chairs. But, the home's most noticeable feature is the exposed wood beams and framework -- from the sliding doors to the impressive staircase built from 100-year-old pine -- which give the house a warm atmosphere.
