Madonna And Britney Spears Tweet About VMA Kiss

Madonna To Britney: 'Kiss Me Again'

Madonna first graced the Twittersphere in March to promote her latest record, MDNA. And when the new release was announced to be the megastar's eighth No. 1 studio album this week, Madge took to the microblogging site once again to celebrate.

While her last Twitter appearance involved efforts to clear up a feud with music producer Deadmau5, Wednesday night's session included innocuous questions from fans ("What was the first record you bought??") and queries from celebrity pals, such as Katy Perry.

When Britney Spears offered some words of praise (“love the new album – every single song is incredible. congrats girl!”), Madge spiced up the conversation, tweeting back “please come on stage and kiss me again. I miss you!!," of course, alluding to the pair's infamous lip lock at the MTV VMAs in 2003.

Spears replied "Tempting…," to which Madonna responded ""Are you gonna make me work for this?"

The flirty exchange was likely all in fun. In a "Nightline" interview this past January, the 53-year-old pop icon discussed the provocative VMA performance, commenting "Nice moment, good kisser, cool," but stated that she has no plans to swap spit with Spears again. "No, I already did it," she said. "I don't like to repeat myself."
