Over the years "The Simpsons" have invited Banksy and John Kricfalusi to animate their iconic opening sequence, and the April 15 episode added a new clip to the canon. New York indie animator and two-time Oscar-nominee Bill Plympton's minute and a half intro tells the story of the big red couch we've seen every week for so many years. How did it find its way to the Simpson family room, anyway?

We don't want to spoil anything for you, but suffice it to say that the couch has had a rough life. It deserves to kick back and watch "Itchy and Scratchy" with the kids.
