Dog Fest San Francisco: Fifth Annual Canine Charity Event Features Talented Local Pets (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Dog Fest!

A beautiful sunny day in San Francisco cannot be better spent than lying in the park with your dog.

This past Saturday, that is exactly what San Franciscans did at the fifth annual Dog Fest in Duboce Park. The canine themed holiday is a community fundraiser, dog show and family fun event to benefit McKinley Elementary.

This year the festivities included entertainment from David Handler (Lemony Snicket), jump houses, face painting, a carnival, food and live entertainment from the Busy Bee Dogs. Best of all -- admission was free!

This week, Dog Fest's dog day afternoon is part of HuffPost SF’s weekly adopt-a-pet series to highlight all the amazing things a dog can do. (See dogs jump roping in the pictures below)!

So here is the not-so-subtle call to go out and adopt a pet! Everyone could use a little more park time.
