For Sybrina: Show Your Support And Share Your Mother's Day Wishes For Trayvon Martin's Mother (UPDATE)

For Sybrina: Show Your Love For Trayvon Martin's Mother (UPDATE)

Over the last three weeks, we've been amazed by the outpouring of love and support you've shown for the For Sybrina Project. We've received hundreds of cards, letters, poems, tweets and videos from all over the world showing love to Trayvon Martin's mother for Mother's Day.

Things got even better when we partnered with the national black mother's organization, Mocha Moms, Inc. Founded 15 years ago, Mocha Moms, Inc. has over 100 chapters across the country and its platform includes strengthening marriages and families, promoting self-care, strong educational foundations and volunteerism. Mocha Moms put out the call to their chapters to have For Sybrina cardmaking parties and the response was incredible. Thanks to Mocha Moms, participants in the Annual Harlem Mother's Day Parade and the Essie Davis Memorial Annual Scholarship Fund Committee, the For Sybrina Project was able to physically mail a big care package of homemade cards and letters to Sybrina Fulton just in time for Mother's Day. We've highlighted some of the card parties and some of your submissions below.

You can see all of the submissions at the For Sybrina Project Tumblr

Previously 5/10/12: In two weeks the For Sybrina Project, our Mothers Day Campaign saluting Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin's mom, has touched the hearts of hundreds. From Hollywood: Mariah Carey, Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, Tasha Smith, Tichina Arnold, Anika Noni Rose, Kim Coles and Taraji P. Henson took to Twitter, to Brooklyn, where many took to glue and glitter, to celebrate the strength and dignity of Sybrina.

The Essie Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund Committee collected Mother’s Day messages For Sybrina at The Annual Harlem Mother’s Day Parade. Yet what has been most touching is the outpouring of support in poems, pictures and letters from everyday people from all of over the country and beyond. It’s not too late for you to add your voice to this long beautiful love song. It’s inspired by Sybrina Fulton, but serves as a tribute to mother’s everywhere who have lost children. See how you can join below.
