Prince Harry Will Visit Nation's Capital

WASHINGTON -- Prince Harry will be in the nation's capital on May 7 to receive a humanitarian award from the Atlantic Council for his ongoing work to help wounded servicemembers.

As the Associated Press reported, St. James Palace announced in a statement that "Prince Harry will use the award to pay tribute to British and American veterans' charities for their achievements in helping to rehabilitate wounded servicemen and women and to reintegrate those who have served in the Armed Forces into civilian life."

According to the Washington Examiner, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" will emcee the 50th anniversary Atlantic Council dinner on May 7.

In addition to Prince Harry, the Atlantic Council will honor United Nations Secretary Ban Ki-Moon, Unilever CEO Paul Polman, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and enlisted men and woman of the armed forces.

Prince Harry's father, Prince Charles, visited Washington about a year ago, touring LeDroit Park's Common Good City Farm.
