Wedding Songs: What Are The Most Popular Wedding Songs?

LISTEN: Top 20 Most-Played Wedding Songs

What are American newlyweds dancing to on their wedding days?

LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," apparently.

Recently, digital music service Spotify pulled data from nearly 66,000 user-created wedding playlists to find out which songs were the most popular tracks at weddings, and LMFAO's high-energy song took the number-one spot.

Power ballad "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, "Marry Me" by Train, "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and romantic classic "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong rounded out the top five tracks.

According to data from 2011, Spotify saw a 390 percent increase in the number of wedding playlists created from April to May. And nearly 70 percent of all wedding playlists were created by men (presumably grooms or best men.)

It seems that interactive wedding playlists are here to stay. "It makes sense that so many are now using the service to create their wedding playlist. Couples want their family and friends to be part of the celebrations, and often invite guests to submit their favourite tracks before the event," Angela Watts, VP of global communications for Spotify, said in a press release.
