Kamil Mezalka Stabs Computer With Samurai Sword In Child Porn Raid

Child Porn Suspect Stabs Computer With Samurai Sword

Authorities in Florida are saying a 21-year-old man stabbed his computer with a samurai sword to thwart federal agents who were raiding his home on suspicion that he had been downloading child porn.

What Kamil Mezalka apparently didn't realize is that stabbing a computer doesn't delete files.

Agents allegedly uncovered hundreds of images depicting children on the Palm Coast man's computer on Tuesday, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

The federal government obtained a search warrant after tracking Mezalka's downloading activity over the Internet. Agents made their way into the house and found Mezalka in his underwear with his hands up. He allegedly retreated into the room containing his computer and shut the door.

Agents followed him and saw him run his sharp samurai sword through the console of his computer -- but the stabbing apparently did nothing to damage the files, The Miami Herald reported.

Mezalka reportedly said he was attracted to teenage girls and "might have" downloaded pornography showing girls 13 years old and younger, according to an affidavit obtained by the News-Journal. He faces 20 years in federal prison if convicted of child pornography charges.

Mezalka and his sword were in the news in April, when he reportedly armed himself to save his mother from an attack by his step father, according to Central Florida News 13.

The step father, Zbigniew Supinski, was arrested and charged with domestic battery. Mezalka did not stab Supinski and was not charged.
