When University of Louisville School dentistry student Taraneh Momeni walked onto the stage at her graduation this Saturday, she knew she would finally be receiving her diploma.
But what Momeni didn't know was that she would be receiving an engagement ring, as well.
During the commencement ceremony, Momeni's boyfriend, U of L Cardinal men's basketball player Kyle Kuric got up on stage and pretended to take a photo with Momeni -- but instead grabbed the microphone and proposed to his girlfriend of two and a half years on stage.
Kuric told the crowd: “Sorry to interrupt, but me and her have been dating for about two and a half years ... I definitely want to be with her for the rest of my life. I love her very much.”
The former basketball star told local news station Wave 3 that he was more nervous proposing than he was playing in the Final Four in April.
