For fans of Ron Paul, it's a sad day. While the presidential candidate continues to seek delegates, he is calling off the active part of his campaign.

Of course the question we're all asking (aside from "How on earth will we go on?") is, "Why?" Sure, Mitt Romney is already the presumptive nominee, but Paul is a scrappy, play-by-his-own-rules sort of guy. We were hoping he'd see this thing through to the very end. Frankly, we were counting on a battle royale on the floor of the RNC. Alas, it is simply not to be.
