We've seen them together on stage and on screen, but Jennifer Lopez and her beau, Casper Smart, finally stepped into the spotlight Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of the star-studded film "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
The couple, who have been together since last fall, dazzled at the red carpet event, and both spoke to E!'s Marc Malkin about relationships and the future.
Smart, 25, tried not to play into the "Do you and Lopez want marriage and kids?" questions -- Lopez's film is all about pregnancy, after all -- but did talk lovingly about the singer.
"It was really professional for a very long time before anything even happened," Smart said about getting together with Lopez, 42, who split from her husband of seven years, Marc Anthony, in July. "It just really spontaneously happened. The chemistry was there. You can't fight it."
Lopez, meanwhile, said she and Anthony continue to have a special relationship and will be connected forever due to their children, twins Max and Emme, 4.
"Marc and I were friends for 10 years before we got married. We got married, we had two beautiful children, and we're still friends," she said, adding that she and Anthony will perform in Las Vegas together with the "Q'Viva" crew. "Things disappointingly don't work out the way that you dream them in your mind sometimes. That's life."
Smart did reveal that he would like to have children one day, so could there be more kids in the future for the singer and "American Idol" judge? Lopez admitted to E! that it's hard to be a working mom, but did recently say that having more children is not out of the question.
"It would be a blessing," she told People earlier this month. "Every day … they just bring so much joy and happiness to your life, [and] they just bring you right back down to earth."
