'American Idol': Jessica Sanchez Tackles Aerosmith Classic 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing' (VIDEO)

Jessica Sanchez Tackles Aerosmith Classic On 'Idol'

The top three took to the stage on "American Idol" (Wed., 8 p.m. ET on Fox), and put on a great show. Of the three, there is no clear favorite to win this season. Many considered Jessica Sanchez an early favorite, considering her powerful voice and incredible range, but did her song selections hurt her this week?

The judges chose one of Mariah Carey's more subdued songs in "My All," while Jimmy Iovine gave her The Jackson 5's "I'll Be There." That one didn't connect emotionally. But perhaps the boldest pick was the one she made herself. Sanchez decided to tackle a power anthem made famous by judge Steven Tyler with Aerosmith.

She put a sweeter voice on "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" -- a song that came out when she was three years old. The other judges pointed out that Tyler never enjoyed when someone tackled one of his songs, but he seemed genuinely impressed.

"You just took a great song and made it greater," Tyler told a stunned Sanchez. But did she do enough to outlast Phillip Phillips or Joshua Ledet?

Find out in the results show Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Then tune in next week for the finale, shifted to Tuesday at 8 p.m. for the performance show and Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET for the season finale.
