Rangers-Devils Penalty Box Fail: Travis Zajac Waits As MSG Door Gets Fixed (VIDEO)

Penalty Box Fail At Madison Square Garden

After all of the brawls between the Devils and Rangers in the regular season, it's hard to think of anything that could actually get both coaches smiling simultaneously during the Eastern Conference Finals. But Game 2 provided such a moment when New Jersey's Travis Zajac was called for an interference penalty late in the second period.

The Devils center made his way to the penalty box but there was one problem, he couldn't actually get in. The door was stuck, delaying the game for several minutes.

An employee of Madison Square Garden came out and tried to drive his shoulder into the door to dislodge it, but to no avail. Zajac actually went and sat in the Rangers penalty box as the Devils' door continued to get worked on.

During the delay, as the fans at Madison Square Garden became annoyed, Devils coach Pete DeBoer and New York's John Tortorella couldn't help but laugh on their benches.

After the door was finally fixed, Rangers rookie Chris Kreider scored a power play goal to give New York a 2-1 lead. But New Jersey rallied back to win 3-2 and tied the series at 1.
