'Arrested Development' Movie: Charlize Theron Wants To Reprise Role

Charlize Theron To Join 'Arrested Development' Movie?

The "Arrested Development" movie is still a ways off, but one celebrity is already making it known she'd be down for a cameo. Charlize Theron, who appeared in Season 3 of the cult-favorite comedy told VH1 she'd "love" to come by for a day and reprise her role of Rita Leeds.

"It was one of my favorite experiences I've ever had," Theron told VH1 while promoting "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Theron's Rita appeared in five episodes of "Arrested Development" as a love interest of sorts for Michael Bluth.

Netflix is reviving the series for a fourth season to stream exclusively on the Internet service with a film to follow. Series creator Mitch Hurwtiz was recently spotted at work on the Maeby episode of the new season. Each character will get a spotlight episode in the new 10-episode season leading up to the film. "Arrested Development" Season 4 is set to debut on Netflix in early 2013.

Aside from Theron, "Arrested Development" had a number of celebrity guest stars including Liza Minnelli, Martin Short and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Theron said she would welcome the opportunity to return, but seemed to acknowledge the main characters of the Bluth family are key. The entire series regular cast is confirmed to return.

"I would love to, but I also don't want to crash the party," she said. "I think those characters are so great, but yeah, if they wanted me to come by for a day, I'd love to do that.

"And if they paid me well because, you know, that's important too," she said jokingly.
