California Woman Pleads 'No Contest' To Sex With Biological Son

A northern California woman has pleaded no contest to having sex with her teenage son after the two reconnected on Facebook.

Mistie Atkinson, 32, of Nice, entered her plea Tuesday before Napa County Superior Court Judge Ray Guadagni, in response to charges of incest, oral copulation with a minor, contact with a minor for sexual offense and sending harmful matter to the teen, according to WHPTV.

Authorities arrested Atkinson in March after they found her in a hotel room with her biological 16-year-old son. According to Napa police, they found videos on the boy's phone that showed Atkinson performing oral sex and having sexual intercourse with the teen. She's also accused of sending sexually explicit images to the boy electronically, CBS News reported.

"Atkinson and the victim are aware they are biological mother and son," authorities said in an affidavit.

The boy's father had sole custody of him and Atkinson had not seen the child since he was 2 years old. The two reportedly reconnected on Facebook.

The father has since obtained a restraining order against Atkinson.

"She started to have a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with him, not a mother-and-son relationship. ... She was sending him pictures of her body and basically seducing him. ... It's unhealthy and they need to stay apart," the boy's father said, according to court documents obtained by the Napa Valley Register.

Guadagni has scheduled Atkinson's sentencing for June 13. She faces a maximum sentence of four years and eight months in prison.
