Girl Tied To Tree, Pelted With Eggs, Beer By Legal Guardians, Cops Say

A 15-year-old girl's legal guardians and neighbors are in jail after they allegedly tied her to a tree at a Virginia campground and pelted her with eggs and beer.

Loretta Miller, 48, and Randel Miller, 47, were given custody of the girl by her biological parents. That is, until May 2, when investigators found that they'd allegedly tied the girl to a tree using ratchet straps at a Windsor campground and then assaulted her, the Virginian-Pilot reported.

Their two neighbors, Margaret Allen, 46, and Ross Renicker, 48, were also charged this week in the incident.

The alleged abuse occurred on April 27 at the Big Bear Campground. At some point between then and May 2, Isle of Wight County social services officials were called to the Miller household and began investigating. The couples were caring for other children at the time of the incident, WAVY-TV reported.

A motive for the crime is currently unclear.

All four were charged with assault and battery of a household member, and all but Renicker were also charged with abduction.
