Gary Giordano, Robyn Gardner Disappearance Suspect, Charged With Indecent Exposure

Key Suspect In Robyn Gardner Disappearance Busted For Indecent Exposure

The primary suspect in Robyn Gardner's disappearance in Aruba last year was released by local authorities in November, but his time in the police spotlight doesn't appear to be over.

Around 6 p.m. last Friday, Gary Giordano, 51, was arrested in Maryland when police found him naked in his Cadillac Escalade, the Gaithersburg Patch reported. Giordano and his female companion, 46-year-old Carol Ann Bock of Tennessee, were apparently engaging in sexual activity on a mattress in the car while it was parked in an Annapolis garage.

"I observed a blanket hanging from the left side of the interior of the vehicle where both Mr. Giordano and Ms. Bock were located in what appeared to be an attempt to conceal their activity," the police report said, according to ABC News.

Yet the blanket didn't prevent passersby from reporting possible sexual activity taking place in the car, and two complaints quickly led police to the black SUV. Giordano and Bock were each charged with one count of indecent exposure.

Robyn Gardner, 35, disappeared while she and Giordano were on a trip to Aruba. Giordano claimed that Gardner, whom he met on a dating website, vanished while snorkeling on Aug. 2, though no witnesses ever reported seeing the couple go into the water and police have no knowledge of what else they did on the island, Aruba Solicitor General Taco Stein told the Associated Press.

The Maryland man came under additional scrutiny when authorities discovered Giordano's travel insurance policy on Gardner with a $1.5 million accidental death clause, ABC News reported at the time. He was ultimately detained as the primary suspect in Gardner's disappearance, but after spending four months in an Aruban prison, he was released due to insufficient evidence implicating him in Gardner's presumed death.
