Drunk Driver Runs Red Light During 'Good Day Sacramento' Report On Pedestrian Safety (VIDEO)

WATCH: Local News Report Takes Dangerous Twist

A live news segment on pedestrian safety took a dangerous twist when a drunk driver ran a red light right in front of the reporter.

Doug Brauner was preparing to demonstrate when pedestrians have the right-of-way at an intersection on "Good Day Sacramento." He had just stepped onto the street when a black pick-up truck blew past him and ran a red light. A highway patrol officer, who was on hand to give tips for the segment, immediately took off after the car.

"Okay, this is absolutely the point we're trying to make!" Brauner exclaimed. It doesn't get much clearer than that. Later, he noted that the driver was arrested for drunk driving.
