A U.S. Army couple serving in a parachute-jumping unit in Afghanistan returned home this week to the delight and tears of their two young children, Fox 11 News reports.

Travis and Isela Ulman said that they didn't tell their family that they were returning home until a few hours before their arrival at Outagamie County Regional Airport in Wisconsin.

Their children, 11-year-old Tashia and 9-year-old Tru, were kept in the dark about the surprise till the big reveal.

Seeing Travis and Isela from afar at the airport, the two children -- who hadn't seen their parents since last October -- could not contain their emotion as they sprinted towards the waiting arms of mom and dad.

The children, who live with a grandmother when Travis and Isela are not around, told Fox 11 News that it is a challenge having both parents away for such long periods of time.

“[It's] kind of frustrating because if you get in a bad mood, they are not there for you,” said Tashia. “They are not there to cheer you up or anything.”

When asked what she wants to do with her parents while they're in town, the little girl said that she has big plans.

“Hug them over and over and then I want to show them my room and I want to bring them to school,” she said.

Travis and Isela are back home for two weeks.
