French Open 2012: Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer Among Roland Garros Favorites (PHOTOS)

If world No. 1 Novak Djokovic wants to win a fourth consecutive Grand Slam championship then the tournament's top seed is going to have to go through Roger Federer to reach the final. On the other side of the men's draw, defending champ Rafael Nadal, who has won six of the last seven French Opens, may have relatively smooth sailing as the No. 2 seed at Roland Garros.

Plenty is on the line for the Big Three. The 16-time grand slam champion Federer is looking to show he's not done winning majors. Djokovic is looking for his first French Open championship. And Nadal could break the record for most French Open titles.

But it's not all about the "Big Three." Andy Murray would like us to be talking about the "Big Four." Will he finally capture the elusive first grand slam title? Can Juan Martin Del Potro win his first grand slam since beating Federer in the U.S. Open finals in 2009?

Below are brief profiles of the top contenders from the men's side at the 2012 French Open, where play begins Sunday:
