Ashley Caldera, 16-Year-Old, Fatally Shot At Her Birthday Party (VIDEO)

A teen was shot and killed at her sixteenth birthday party Saturday night, and police are on the hunt for her murderers.

Ashley Caldera was with friends at Northgate Park in Fontana, Calif. at around 11 p.m. when two men approached the group, reports CBS2/KCAL9.

One of Caldera's friends, who asked not to be identified, said the men, possibly teens, asked where they were from. Before anyone had a chance to respond, they opened fire on Caldera, killing her. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Seventeen year-old Jasmine Dominguez, another one of Caldera's friends, told KTLA what it was like to watch her friend pass away.

"She was squeezing my hand and she just let go ... I tried pressing her chest and she just ... was dead."

A Facebook page called, "R.I.P. Ashley Ann Caldera" sprang up on Monday so family and friends could post memories about her.

Andrey Fierro wrote, "May you be with the lord God. May the COWARDS that hurt you be punished. That is what they are a bunch of worthless cowards."

Fontana resident Erica Vidrio told the San Bernadino Sun that Northgate transforms from a "family park" into a place where people smoke and drink once nighttime falls. There are only two lights in the park, said Vidrio, and one of them doesn't work.

Caldera and her friends were at the park waiting for another friend to meet them before heading over together to a slumber party. Caldera's aunt told the San Bernadino Sun that the group couldn't have been there longer than 10 to 15 minutes before the shooters approached.

Caldera's death isn't the first time someone's been shot at a Fontana park. Fontana Police Lt. Bob Ratcliffe told the Fontana Herald News that 21-year-old skateboarder Mike Reed was killed at Jack Bulik Park in 2007.

If anyone has any information about the shooting, please call the Fontana Police Department at (909) 356-TIPS.
