Like many homeowners, Deena and Daniel Rosenberg wanted a chic space to entertain guests, but was still comfortable and informal for their family to gather in every day. And this makeover accomplishes just that, adding a sophisticated color palette, functional furniture, and beautiful accessories to what was once a bare area in an open floorplan. Although their look may appear pricey, you can borrow their budget-savvy tips to perk up any dining spot in your home.
First, the dining space was defined by adding a large-scale floral area rug, tying in colors from other areas of the home and giving the space some pattern and richness. To save some money, four inexpensive rattan side chairs were mixed-and-matched with two upholstered chairs at either end of the dining table. As another money-saving solution, a high bureau was swapped in instead of a sideboard, which has plenty of deep drawers for dishes and flatware. Glass doors were added to a simple bookshelf to transform it into a curio for displaying serving pieces. These creative pieces gave the Rosenbergs' plenty of storage without sacrificing style. Pops of bright colors and vibrant artwork finish off the room and create a fun and casual space for this young family to enjoy.
