"Breaking Bad" fans, this story is going to sound a little familiar.
David Groover, principal of Partin Settlement Elementary School in Kissimmee, Fla., was arrested on June 15 after allegedly providing drugs to an undercover Sheriff's deputy.
According to a police affidavit obtained by the Miami Herald, the principal provided methamphetamine and GHB, also known as "liquid ecstasy," to an undercover agent in his home.
Following the arrest, deputies obtained a search warrant and found a cache of drugs and other controlled substances in Groover's home, including methamphetamine, cannabis, GHB and steroids.
According to NBC Orlando, the 43-year-old educator came under investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office following a complaint of drug activity at his home.
CNN reports that Groover is being charged with the possession and delivery of drugs and the possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at Osceola County Jail on $18,750 bond.
Osceola County Public Schools spokeswoman Dana Schafer said Groover is being reassigned to a position that does not involve contact with students, and that the school district will be conducting its own investigation.
Groover was hired by the school district in 1992 as a substitute teacher and worked his way up the ranks, becoming principal of the elementary school in 2006, according to NBC Orlando.
The Miami Herald reported that "no records of previous discipline" were found for Groover in their search of a Florida Department of Education database.
However, NBC Orlando reported that the principal faced DUI charges in 2009, but was acquitted.
