Woody Harrelson Gives $600 To Homeless Woman In NYC

Woody Harrelson Gives Homeless Woman Big Boost

Woody Harrelson was feeling extra generous Sunday following a bash at Bar Centrale in Hell's Kitchen for actress Carol Kane's 60th birthday.

While exiting the venue, a homeless woman approached the actor asking if he could spare some change.

Instead of ignoring the woman, The Daily News reports that Harrelson surprised her with a whopping $600 in cash. Witnesses say she recognized the actor and exclaimed, "Woody! White men CAN jump."

Harrelson isn't the only one shelling out to help the homeless lately. While filming "The Silver Linings Playbook," Bradley Cooper sent his assistants out to purchase thousands of dollars worth of clothing for the homeless population nearby the set.

In January, Ellen DeGeneres provided Samantha Garvey, the homeless teen who was a semifinalist in a science competition, with a $50,000 scholarship from AT&T to the college of her choice.

As for other random New York do-gooders, Ryan Gosling is most likely the most well known celebrity, having saved a journalist from being hit by a taxi and breaking up street fights in his downtime.
