Blue Ivy, Beyonce And Jay-Z's Daughter, Named Honorary Citizen Of Hvar, Croatia

Blue Ivy Given Honorary Croatian Citizenship For Boosting Tourism

Blue Ivy, Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter born in January, has become quite the tourism pull, at least according to one Croatian mayor.

Late last summer, the music moguls vacationed in Croatia, while Beyonce was pregnant. While there, the duo filmed Beyonce in front of a blue tree in Hvar, an island in the Adriatic Sea, during a morning stroll. In the video, Beyonce can be heard saying: "I think it's Blue Ivy, which would be quite appropriate!" She later posted the video to her Tumblr.

Now, the mayor of Hvar is thanking the dynamic duo for bringing media and tourism attention to the town, according to Agence France Presse. Mayor Pjerino Bebic wrote a letter to Beyonce and Jay-Z, saying:

The story of the origin of your girl's name, Blue Ivy, has brought huge media attention and great tourism promotion to the town of Hvar. I have decided to grant your daughter the status of honorary citizen of the town.

Bebic also invited the family to visit Hvar, which is the sunniest town in Croatia, claiming that tourism has dramatically increased since their visit, Contact Music reports.
