Usher 'Standing Strong' After Death of Stepson, Says Godfather Ben Vereen

Usher 'Standing Strong' After Death of Stepson

Usher's 11-year-old stepson, Kile Glover, died early Saturday morning when his mother, Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, allegedly made the tough decision to take him off life support.

Now the singer is surrounding himself with loved ones to help him during this difficult time.

“I’m proud of [him] because he’s standing strong,” Usher's godfather, Broadway legend Ben Vereen, told me on the set of "New York Live." “It’s a terrible thing when a parent has to bury their child. No parent should ever have to bury his or her child. I know because I buried one. So please continue your prayers for him and [his] family for strength and healing.”

Usher and Tameka have been involved in a rough custody battle over their two sons, Usher V and Naviyd.

But that has been put on hold following an accident that left Kile brain dead. Kile and a friend had been inner tubing on Lake Lanier when they were accidently hit by a family friend on a jet ski. Officials are still investigating the accident.
