Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver's Home In Santa Barbara Just Isn't Selling (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Maria Makes Big Decision Based On 'Bad Energy'

Maria Shriver is throwing in the towel when it comes to a sprawling Santa Barbara ranch she and philandering husband Arnold Schwarzenegger once shared in happier times.

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Shriver quietly put their 25-acre property in Carpinteria near Santa Barbara, Calif. on the private market back in January but no one's biting. Unfortunately for Shriver, the property is an "albatross around her neck" that she can't wait to get rid off -- even if it means taking a hit on the sale price.

“She thinks the land has bad energy," a source revealed to RadarOnline. "Maria’s a very spiritual person and she doesn’t want any negativity in her life, especially after everything she went through, so she just wants it gone from her life."

Shriver and Schwarzenegger bought the property together in 2008, reports the Los Angeles Times, paying $4.7 million for the land. It was listed in 2012 for $4.495 million.

Their acreage is just a small part of a historical 19th century ranch called old Rancho Monte Alegre that contains several thousand acres of canyons, waterfalls and ocean views, according to the Times. Only 25 privately owned estates were approved for the project; the rest of the ranch was dedicated to the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County and will remain undeveloped.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver's property boasts two ponds, ocean views and a barn that is approximately 100 years old, according to a listing. The home on the land is a craftsman-style property from the 1880s (that needs "remodeling and TLC"), and purchase of the land includes access to the old Rancho Monte Alegre's magnificent riding trails and ocean views.
