Kristen Stewart issued a statement admitting her affair with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders almost immediately after incriminating photos of the pair hit newsstands. But, it turns out, Stewart had fair warning that July 25 was going to be one of the worst days of her life.
Initially, Stewart's statement seemed like an off-the-cuff mea culpa, the portrait of an incredibly shaken 22-year-old who was caught red-handed. But as it turns out, Stewart most likely received a one-day warning that the photos were going to be released, giving her more than 24 hours to craft the disjointed and emotional apology we've all since memorized. Let's take a closer look at her words.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
Evidently, it was a calculated move for Stewart to name Pattinson, whom she has never publicly admitted to dating, as well as to skip any direct mention of Sanders' family. Oh, and the double "I love you" wasn't just conversational; she apparently really, really loves Pattinson.
