Former Republican Tennessee Senator and Law and Order star Fred Thompson raised a few eyebrows among those following him on Twitter Wednesday, tweeting :
"A new TV channel in Egypt will only allow women on it who are fully veiled. Wonder if we could get 'em to host Pelosi's next presser? #tcot"
This isn't the first time the former GOP presidential hopeful has made controversial comments involving female leaders. As reported by the Boston Globe in 2007, Thompson once expressed doubt that any woman was up to the job of being president.
"This year, it's a man, and next year, it's going to be a man,'' Thompson said, "I can see no one else who's qualified to be president of the United States.''
It's not Thompson's first questionable tweet, either. He had this to say in February 2010: "Reid: Jobless men = domestic abuse. Is he saying we should be worried about Mrs. Reid after the November elections?"
