Tornado Hits Oakland Township -- But It's All For The Movies

The 'Untitled Tornado Project' Begins Filming

You don't have to take cover from this twister. In fact, it's a welcome addition to Oakland Township — and all of Michigan.

A movie known only as "Untitled Tornado Project" has begun filming in the state. This week, a cast and crew of about 300 are on location at a school off the rural Lake George Road in Oakland Township.

The scene is surreal: a mangled school bus sits upside down on a hill in front of Oakview Middle School, part of the Lake Orion school district. All around, trees and debris are scattered, evidence of a natural disaster. Preparing for the next scene, crew members take sledgehammers to a car they need to appear destroyed and left in the tornado's path.
