What do you get when you mash up "Harry Potter" and high fashion? A set of edgy yet elegant Hogwarts-house couture gowns fit for wizards and muggles alike.
Created by deviantART user Cavalyn, a series of dress sketches based on the four houses -- Gryffindor, Slytherin, Huffelpuff and Ravenclaw -- has started getting passed around on the Internet by Potterheads and fashion bloggers alike.
Chloe Moretz even tweeted about the designs today:
Cavalyn, who recently graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a degree in fashion design, created the illustrations because she wanted to unwind with a fun project post-graduation.
"It was very natural for me to turn to 'Harry Potter' for inspiration," she says in an email to the Huffington Post. "My favorite part about designing is trying to make the garments say something, and that's why designing Hogwarts-inspired gowns was so appealing. Trying to personify the Hogwarts houses allowed me to mix the physical inspiration of the mascots with the personality of each house."
Check out the four designs in the slideshow below, and head over to deviantART to see more of her work!
