Wanda Sykes Talks LGBT Platform At DNC (VIDEO)

Comedian and actress Wanda Sykes stopped by MSNBC to talk about the Democratic National Convention giving unprecedented focus to its LGBT platform, particularly coming out loud and strong for marriage equality.

The openly gay comedian has been an active supporter of LGBT rights since publicly coming out in November 2008. She married her wife Alex earlier that same year and the couple have two children together.

Speaking to Thomas Roberts, Sykes addressed not only the importance of the DNC no longer mincing words on the issue, she also recognized the power of Obama adding his voice to the call for marriage equality in terms of its influence on the African-American community.
