When you're as connected to the Internet as we are, its easy to forget the profound effect a simple Google search can have on a first-time user.

We recently came across Zack Matere's stunning story, as part of an ongoing Youtube series showcasing "Google Search Stories."

Matere, a Kenyan farmer, cycled 12 km to a cyber cafe in order to use the Internet for the first time. He wanted to know why his potato crop kept failing. The consequent social change created by that simple act is documented in heartwarming fashion in the video above.

The budding entrepreneur has since been profiled by BBC News.
