Tom Hanks' Michael Clarke Duncan Eulogy Is Humorous, Wonderful (VIDEO)

An emotional Tom Hanks told a humorous story at Michael Clarke Duncan's memorial service in Hollywood on Monday.

Video of Hanks' eulogy for Duncan has now gone viral, having received more than 470,000 views at the time this was written, and making the front page of social news site Reddit.

In the video, which was posted on CNN's YouTube channel Sept. 10, Hanks relates an anecdote from Duncan's adolescence that the "Green Mile" actor once told him, impersonating the deep voice of the 6-foot-5-inch, 300-pound Academy Award nominee.

In a nutshell, the young Duncan had gone out to join a gang on Chicago's South Side, but his mother wouldn't have it. She came at him with a frying pan and forced Duncan to renounce his new peers.

"If it wasn't for that mama and the frying pan with a pork chop, we would not be here today celebrating the life of Michael Clarke Duncan," Hanks said.

Duncan, whose films included blockbusters like "Armageddon," "Planet of the Apes" and "Kung Fu Panda," died Sept. 3 at age 54 while being hospitalized following a heart attack in July.
