Dustin Pedroia's Wife, Kelli, Goes Into Labor: Red Sox Star Exits Game vs. Yankees (VIDEO)

Red Sox Star Leaves Game As Wife Goes Into Labor

Boston Red Sox star Dustin Pedroia abruptly left Wednesday night's game against the New York Yankees before the seventh inning after he was told his wife Kelli went into labor with their second child.

As the Red Sox were warming up for the seventh inning, the NESN cameras caught manager Bobby Valentine pulling Pedroia aside to break the news. The 2008 AL MVP, who had two hits in the game, looked stunned and immediately ran off the field.

According to USA Today, Kelli was in attendance at Fenway Park when she went into labor.

Pedroia skipped the 2009 All-Star game for the birth of the couple's first child.
