The great experiment at the heart of these early episodes on the new season of "American Chopper" finally got underway: Junior and Senior are officially working together on a personal project. They're meeting up at Senior's garage to try and rebuild a bike, and both men seem to be trying their best to make this opportunity to mend their broken relationship work.
As Huliq pointed out, "Senior seems almost afraid to speak when he is with his son, for fear he might say the wrong thing. … Junior … is not turning every word into a study in psychiatric philosophy ... just taking his dad at face value, giving him a chance."
Fans are perhaps as hopeful as the father-and-son duo that they can find their way back to a more healthy relationship.
"I don’t think we’re quite there yet, but I think that, hopefully, by the time this bike is done, we’ll have a closer relationship," Senior said of their progress.
"The bike is just symbolic of our relationship. Can we get it built? I hope so," Junior said at another point.
Keep tuning in to see how things progress for the Teutuls on "American Chopper," Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Discovery.
