'Good Morning America' Meets The Muppets (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'GMA' Gets A Little Awkward

Things got a little awkward on "Good Morning America" when the Muppets stopped by on Wednesday.

The furry gang regaled George Stephanopoulos, Elizabeth Vargas, Sam Champion, Amy Robach and Lara Spencer with a song about the morning show to the tune of the "Sesame Street" theme.

The co-hosts responded with some weak laughter. Just when they thought they had reached the end and started clapping, there was more. Cue the weak laughter again, for the length of the song.

"I've never had cookies all over the desk like this before," Amy Robach said to Cookie Monster when it was over.

It's understandably a bit weird when man meets Muppet. Wolf Blitzer's encounter with Kermit the Frog last year went really well, in our opinion.
