Matthew Broderick Books 'Modern Family' And More Casting News

Matthew Broderick will guest star on "Modern Family."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Broderick will play a neurotic new friend to Phil (Ty Burrell) in Season 4. Other Season 4 guest stars include Shelley Long and Wendi McLendon-Covey. Broderick's small screen credits include "30 Rock," "Frasier" and recent voice work on "Adventure Time."

"Modern Family" returns to ABC on Wed., Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. ET. No word on when Broderick's episode will air.

In other casting news ...

Anthony Michael Hall will guest star on "Psych."
Hall will play Harris Trout, a police consultant who is recruited by the mayor. [TVLine]

Olympian Kerron Clement will guest star on "The Young and the Restless." The track and field star will play an extra at Coffeehouse. [EW]

"Breaking Bad" star Dean Norris will guest star on "Whitney." Norris will play Alex's father on the NBC sitcom. [EW]
