'The Bachelor': Sean Lowe Starring In Season 17

Sean Lowe Is The Next 'Bachelor'

Meet the new "Bachelor," Sean Lowe. According to People, the Dallas businessman and one-time "Bachelorette" contestant is the new leading man of "The Bachelor."

Viewers may remember Lowe was the second runner-up during Emily Maynard's season of "The Bachelorette." After being eliminated from "The Bachelorette," Lowe said he was unsure if he could be the "Bachelor."

"It would be a difficult decision if they were to ask me, only because it was so emotionally taxing, and you know, I don't know if I could go through that again," he said on a conference call from July 1021. "But, on the flip side of the coin I understand that the process works. You know, I believe in the process, and ultimately, if I were to find my wife, it would certainly all be worth it. It's just a little difficult to think about right now. So, I'm not sure, but they would have to ask first. So, I don't even know if I'm going to have to make that decision."

Rumors about the next "Bachelor" being Olympian Ryan Lochte swirled after the gold medalist made his desire to be on the show public, but ultimately producers went with Lowe.

Lowe's "Bachelor" season will premiere January 2013.
