After an explosive season finale that saw a bomb go off at the office and Ducky collapse on the beach from a heart attack, the big question plaguing "NCIS" fans all summer long was, "Who survived?" The good news was that the opening minutes of the Season 10 premiere revealed that everyone lived.
Everybody including Harper Dearing, who certainly knew how to play "the game," as everyone kept calling his cat-and-mouse with Gibbs and his team. He considered himself the best, but had plenty of respect for Gibbs as well.
That's why when he faked his death using his brother's dead body, he knew it was only a matter of time before Gibbs figured out the truth and tracked him down. Perhaps he was ready to die. Regardless, he got his wish. Nobody messes with Gibbs' "family" and gets away with it.
While everybody survived the explosion, and Ducky is recovering from his own scare, that doesn't mean things will simply go back to normal. The New York Times writes, "This series has always clung to its most traumatizing moments, using them to deepen characters and letting them reverberate through subsequent episodes and seasons."
Watch the drama unfold as "NCIS" continues on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
