Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is out with his third ad to defend his House seat in Wisconsin's 1st congressional district, even as he simultaneously runs for vice president.
The new ad, like the first two, shows Ryan talking with a group of voters and explaining his vision for America's economic future.
In the latest spot, a woman asks, "Can American afford the path we are on?"
"Our country has a critical decision to make," responds Ryan. "Will we leave something better or worse for our children? Politicians from both parties have made empty promises, which will soon become broken promises if we fail to act now. We must take action to prevent the most predictable economic crisis in our country's history. Washington promotes a culture of dependency; we need a culture of accountability and personal responsibility."

Under Wisconsin law, Ryan is allowed to run for both vice president and member of the House of Representatives. If Ryan and Romney were to win in November, and Ryan was also reelected to the House, the state would have a special election to fill his House seat.
Ryan's Democratic opponent in the 1st congressional district, Rob Zerban, is still considered a long-shot to win the seat. Ryan won reelection easily in 2010, when Tea Party candidates nationwide swept House races.
Joe Biden also ran for reelection to the Senate in Delaware when he was running for vice president in 2008, and ran a minute-long ad for his Senate race.
