"Revolution" proved it wasn't afraid to get blood on its hand with its first major character casualty of the young season. And this one hit Charlie almost as hard as losing her father. Even more tragically, the death of her surrogate mother Maggie wasn't for any grand cause or toward any lofty end goal. She was killed by a crazy man after the group had killed one of his dogs.
That kind of senseless violence underscores the very real danger that this world poses, not to mention the lack of proper medicine. Stabbed in the leg, Maggie realized an artery had been cut. Aaron did his best to sew it shut, but she'd lost too much blood and expired from blood loss.
Her death did serve one important plot point. Miles has been a reluctant partner in this whole thing, but after watching his niece Charlie break down over losing Maggie -- lamenting that everyone leaves her -- Miles pulled her in for a hug and promised he wasn't going anywhere.
Neither is this show. "Revolution" was picked up for a full season by NBC and will continues on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
