'The Munsters' Reboot: NBC's $10 Million 'Mockingbird Lane' In Limbo (REPORT)

$10 Million 'Munsters' Reboot In Limbo?

"The Munsters" reboot is in serious trouble, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Mockingbird Lane," the highly anticipated Bryan Fuller reboot of the campy 1960s sitcom, has been in development for two years and reportedly cost NBC $10 million. Now the pilot has been shot and THR reports network brass aren't too pleased with it.

UPDATE: According to THR, NBC will air "Mockingbird Lane" as a Halloween special this year, but the network has not officially made an announcement.

Fuller wrote the script with Brian Singer directing and the cast includes Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster, Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa.

Reports of behind-the-scenes clashing over the show's style (real world vs. stylish) floated around and both Deadline.com and THR previously reported the project was dead. However, Fuller -- who is also currently working on NBC's "Hannibal" -- took to Twitter to squash rumors.

THR reports NBC is weighing its options and could air the completed pilot as a Halloween special, shoot additional footage and package as a TV movie or redevelop, again.
