Wolfgang Van Halen took to Twitter on Tuesday night to recount a harrowing experience: being mocked by the boys of One Direction.

Van Halen, who plays bass for the band of the same name and is Eddie Van Halen's son, accused the young Britpop group of being "dickheads" and insulting him. Though Van Halen didn't explain what was actually said or done, he appeared quite incensed, going so far as to mock the hairstyles of Harry Styles (see what we did there?) and his fellow 1D bandmates:

Going after a member of One Direction can be pretty ballsy, but insulting the whole band is sure to attract the wrath of Directioners, the group's loyal fan base. Here's our favorite response, followed by a gallery of upset 1D fans.
