Woman Hopes Robber Reads The Bible He Stole From Her

A Pennsylvania woman robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday thinks the contents of her stolen purse might be good for her assailant.

"I just gave that guy a Bible," the 20-year old victim, whose name has not been released, told WHTM. "The Bible is hot pink, but he might sit down and read it. Maybe he has got a little sister, he can bless her with the purse, and that is fine."

She added that she is praying for the man who held a gun in her face and stole her bag.

Harrisburg police are still searching for the suspect, who is believed to have also robbed a local family last week.

The Bible doesn't have a great track record when it comes to stopping crime, however. Last year, a religious robber reportedly stopped to pray with a woman in a wheelchair after breaking into her home, then continued to steal from her.

And earlier this month, a Georgia father used a biblical passage to defend the murder of his son.
