"Secretly Pregnant" turned the spotlight on Amy, who was keeping her ninth pregnancy a secret from her own children. The eight she had were from several different fathers, and she can barely afford to take care of the ones she has. She cant even afford to have most of her kids live with her.
To make matters more complicated, one of her daughters is also pregnant. But it was with the help of this daughter, Heather, that Amy finally told her children. As she'd anticipated, they didn't take the news very well, worrying about how the family would manage another baby financially, and lamenting that they'd missed out on their own childhoods because they'd had to grow up so fast.
Mother and daughter had their babies a month apart, expanding the family. And while Amy said she was glad she'd kept it a secret because she hates upsetting people, she still made her children upset. She just delayed their reaction, and gave them less time to prepare. Amy did get her tubes tied, so at least number nine will be the last one.
