Miami International Airport is the size of a small city and one of the busiest airports in the world. That's why the Travel Channel realized it would make for an interesting reality television subject. "Airport 24/7: Miami" takes viewers inside the nonstop action and chaos of the airport, spotlighting various people who work throughout the airport covering every aspect of what it takes to keep this well-oiled machine running smoothly.
But what's an airport without passengers? And regular people never stop providing unexpected bits of entertainment. In this week's episode, that surprise came from one man who had a rather unique reason to by trying for an upgrade to first class.
He'd just had surgery to remove an abscess from his rectum. "It was a real pain in the ass," he said.
But it worked, and the man got his first class ride. The employee who made it happen said, "The gentleman was extremely lucky. It was his lucky day, his stars were aligned. This just does not happen."
Anything could happen in a busy hub like MIA, so keep up with all the action on "Airport 24/7: Miami," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Travel.
