NBA legend Earvin Magic Johnson is set to appear in a L.A. County superior court to face a wrongful termination lawsuit recently filed by his former private jet stewardess, Lanita Thomas.
According to TMZ, Thomas cited in court documents that Johnson’s reason for terminating the 45-year-old’s services after eight years was because she was 15 minutes late for duty on one occasion. She added, however, that the entrepreneur’s actual motivation behind the firing was because of his need of having a "substantially younger woman" assist him during his various flights.
Thomas admitted to being 15 minutes late after picking up fresh turkey meat for the Los Angeles Dodgers owner. She revealed in her motion that he was "very particular that all snacks were fresh" during the duration of his flight.
The lawsuit comes just two weeks after Johnson launched his latest business venture of the first FDA-approved home HIV test, OraQuick.
Johnson has yet to respond to Thomas' allegations.
